1991-1995 COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIRS
In our endeavor
to promote community health awareness, we offer free comprehensive
health screenings and health education to people of all ages.
To increase awareness on the importance of early cancer detection
and prevention, we also provide free mammography and low-cost
Prostatic Specific Antigen (PSA) testing. Hundreds of participants
are able to benefit from our health fairs.
1994-PRESENT
CHINESE CARDIOPULMONARY
RESUSCITATION
PROGRAM
In the past,
CPR training course materials were only available in English and
Spanish. In 1994, the American Heart Association granted our Foundation
the rights to translate the CPR material into Chinese. After three
years of dedication and support from our sponsors and volunteers,
we were able to become the "First in the World" to pioneer
a complete Chinese CPR training program. We have gone the extra
mile by providing this lifesaving skill to the Chinese American
communities at no cost. Please refer to the CHINESE
CPR CLASS SCHEDULE.
1996 -2004 "PAMC HEALTH AND WELLNESS"
TELEVISION OUTREACH
Our nationally
televised weekly health educational program on the TVB Jade Channel
and satellite engages healthcare providers to share their knowledge
and insight with our viewers. Our partnership efforts focus on
improving the accessibility of health education and contributing
toward a healthier community.
1998 MEDICAL CONFERENCES
In view of
the rapid changes in the present healthcare arena, PAMC Health
Foundation, the Chinese American Medical Association of Southern
California and Pacific Alliance Medical Center jointly hosted
the "9th International Medical Conference on Health Problems Related
to the Chinese in North America" in Los Angeles in 1998.
Conferences like this one aim to congregate physicians and scholars
to discuss pertinent and specific health problems related to the
Chinese in North America.

QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER
As PAMC Health
Foundation continually "strives for excellence," we
seek new and innovative ideas to improve the quality of healthcare
in the Asian community. Thus, in 2000 we recognized the need to
publish a quarterly health newsletter to disseminate reliable
health information from an authoritative source. The newsletter
carries important health information and references written by
voluntary medical experts and edited by practicing physicians.
The newsletter is distributed nationwide to the Asian community
at no cost. We have received much praise for the innovation of
delivering quality healthcare information in such a way that is
comprehendible to the general public. As such, it has been an
invaluable supplement.
To receive
the “PAMC Health and Wellness” Quarterly Newsletter,
